Door County's lighthouses are impressive when seen by land, there’s nothing quite like getting out on the lake to see these icons from the water just as the early ship captains did as they navigated their way to safety.
The wayside votive chapels of Northeast Wisconsin represent an old-world religious tradition brought to this area in the 1870s by Belgian settlers. Many are open to worshippers at any time.
Some of the biggest names in the county—such as Seaquist, Lautenbach and Zettel—got their start with a modest grove of cherry trees, eventually making words "Door County" synonymous with "cherries."

Many shipwrecks and their remnants can be seen from the water's surface just by looking from a kayak, canoe, or boat, but many more can be seen and explored with proper diving equipment.
