A Piece Of Door County's
Past, Present, and Future
Land and lake, business and leisure
No Door County experience is complete without getting on the water, the defining feature of the region. The county has more than a dozen marinas with wonderful facilities, from public boat launches to sailing tours to boat rentals for enjoying some of the best fishing in Wisconsin.
Location and service set Door County marinas apart from other Great Lakes boating destinations. Nearly every community in the county offers a marina where you can take a short walk from the dock to wonderful restaurants, taverns and shopping. You’ll find plentiful amenities at most marinas as well as convenience stores and delis to stock up on supplies or pack sandwiches for the day on the water are typically nearby as well.
Don’t have a boat of your own, or don’t want to tow it up on vacation? There are plenty of rental options in Fish Creek, Ephraim, Sister Bay, Nicolet Bay, and Sturgeon Bay. There are also several boat tour operators available. For a good breakdown of what you can experience check out this post from local insider Brandon Stillman.
Our marinas are also a great place to cast a line or watch the sunset, so whether you own a boat or not, you can experience the rich boating culture of Door County. The amenity-laden marinas that dot our shores are each modern descendants of Door County’s hardscrabble origins, when these locations were home to cherry processing factories, fisheries, or logging operations.
Today, they offer you a shoreline view of some of the most beautiful places in Wisconsin.
