Travel Like a Lands’ End Ambassador

Discover Door County’s hidden gems and local favorites just like Lands’ End Ambassadors did. This group of content creators embarked on a captivating journey across our picturesque peninsula and its islands during the fall. This three-day itinerary is filled with breathtaking sights, sounds, and tastes that promise an unforgettable autumn adventure.

DAY ONE

Lautenbach's Orchard Country Winery & Market

Peninsula State Park — Eagle Tower

Begin your adventure at Peninsula State Park’s Eagle Tower. The 60-foot tower leads to an observation deck 253 feet above Green Bay. You can choose between a 100-step climb or the 850-foot accessible canopy walk to take in views of the park, surrounding islands, the Upper Michigan shoreline, and the village of Ephraim.

Niagara Escarpment — Eagle Trail

Lace up your hiking boots for the Eagle Trail, a two-mile loop that drops more than 200 feet from the top of the bluff. Jaw-dropping views begin with your first step at Eagle Terrace and continue along the rugged Niagara Escarpment.

Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery & Market

Stroll through apple orchards and sample cider, homemade jams, jellies, and baked goods. Don’t miss the award-winning wine and hard cider tastings.

One Barrel Brewing Company

Stop by One Barrel Brewing Company in Egg Harbor for craft beers, ciders, seltzers, and sodas in a relaxed beer garden atmosphere. Pizza Bros operates inside the tap room, or head next door to Mezzanine for a rooftop patio meal.

Anderson Dock

Make your way to Anderson Dock in Ephraim, an iconic waterfront photo spot. Boaters have decorated the dockside warehouse walls for years with the name of their boat. Note: graffiti is encouraged on the warehouse only — elsewhere it is prohibited.

Wilson’s Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor

Cap off your evening with a half-mile walk to Wilson’s Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor, serving up heavenly ice cream since 1906.

DAY TWO

Cave Point County Park

Whitefish Dunes State Park

Start day two with a sandy beach walk along Lake Michigan in Jacksonport. The Red Trail is a 1.2-mile out-and-back leading to “Old Baldy,” the tallest dune in the park, rising 93 feet above lake level. Continue on the Yellow Trail to wander through a red pine plantation and wooded dune area.

Cave Point County Park

Just next door at Cave Point County Park, you’ll discover stunning limestone cliffs and underwater caves accompanied by the rhythmic ambiance of crashing waves.

Door County Brewing Company

Refuel in Baileys Harbor at Door County Brewing Company, a family-owned taproom and music hall. Order barbecue and sandwiches from DCBC Eats while enjoying the lively atmosphere.

The Ridges Sanctuary

Step into one of the Midwest’s most biologically diverse ecosystems at The Ridges Sanctuary. Visit the Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center for exhibits, then explore the ADA-compliant Hidden Brook Boardwalk and Range Light Boardwalk leading to the Upper and Lower Range Lights.

Cana Island Lighthouse

Cana Island Lighthouse has guided ships since 1869. Climb the 97 steps of the tower’s spiral staircase to the gallery deck for sweeping views of Lake Michigan.

Fish Creek & White Gull Inn

Wander through the boutiques, art galleries, and specialty shops of Fish Creek before heading to White Gull Inn Restaurant for a traditional Door County fish boil. Watch as freshly caught whitefish is cooked outdoors in a large kettle over a roaring fire.
