Teresa K. Hilander Ice Rink, Sister Bay

In the heart of the Sister Bay Sports Complex, the outdoor ice rink offers rental skates and concessions. In addition to the open skating area, it also features an enclosed hockey rink with boards and goals. The rink is a great place to host private events or spend the afternoon with the family and is just a short walk from downtown Sister Bay. The rink is open mid-December through February, weather permitting.

Sturgeon Bay Ice Rink

The Sturgeon Bay ice rink offers ice skates to check out at no charge. Located outdoors near downtown across from the local high school, the skate rink is a favorite of locals and visitors. It is open in the evenings during weekdays and all day on weekends throughout the winter, weather permitting.

Broomball

In northern Door County, Wednesday winter nights are reserved for broomball. The sport is played on a hockey rink, and players try to get a small orange ball into the opposing team’s net using a stick called a broom. Players wear specially designed shoes, helmets and pads.

Teams in the Door County Broomball League compete for glory at the Teresa K. Hilander Ice Rink in Sister Bay, but if you’re just looking for a fun pickup game between friends, all the equipment you need is available for rent at the concessions stand at the rink.
