Culinary Group Tour Itinerary
10:00 AM Arrive at Cherry Delite/Country Ovens, home of the famous Cherry De-Lite, located in Forestville. Shop the country store established in 1987 where you will find a variety of products produced exclusively from Wisconsin grade A fancy cherries. Stock up on all your favorites, with shipping available anywhere, you can send your goods home or surprise friends and family across the country with a taste of Door County’s finest goods.
12:00 PM Make your way north on Hwy 42 for a delightful lunch at The Log Den. Take in the intricate hand-carved decor of this 10,000 square foot restaurant while you savor one of their delicious appetizers, burgers, or sandwiches.
1:30 PM Stop in at Door Artisan Cheese Company in Egg Harbor for some cheese tasting and shopping. Learn about local Wisconsin cheese and sample cheeses made right on site. You can even watch cheese being made and tour the cheese-aging caves.
3:00 PM A can’t miss on your culinary tour of the county, Door County Coffee & Tea is a great place to do some shopping. Explore their premium home decor and gourmet foods gift shop where you’ll find over 100 different flavors and varieties of coffee - roasted and packaged on site.
4:00 PM Check into your hotel for some R&R.
5:45 PM Experience Door County’s unique time honored Fish Boil tradition at The White Gull Inn Restaurant located on the west end of downtown Fish Creek. Established in 1896, this historic inn cooks locally caught Lake Michigan whitefish over an open fire just as the Scandinavian settlers did more than 100 years ago to bring you a taste that’s distinctly Door County. Treat yourself to seconds but leave room for a piece of cherry pie made-from-scratch with fruit grown right here on the peninsula.
7:30 PM Walk down the street a short distance to Sunset Park for a spellbinding view of the sunset over the bay of Green Bay.
8:00 AM Start your day with breakfast a local coffee shop or bakery.
9:30 AM Travel back in time at the Corner of the Past/Old Anderson House Museum in Sister Bay where you’ll meander through a farm house built in 1875, restored farm buildings, log cabins, and a sawmill. There’s turn of the century furnishings to see along with antique farm implements, tools, photos, and more. During the summer, enjoy painting, carving, blacksmithing, bead working, weaving, and Norwegian embroidery demonstrations put on by local volunteer artisans.
11:30 AM Have lunch at Wilson’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor located in the heart of Ephraim since 1906. This classic Door County landmark is where you’ll find an old-fashioned soda fountain, ice cream specialties, home-brewed draft root beer, flame broiled burgers, and antique juke boxes playing the classics. Dine indoors or take your lunch across the street for a picnic on the scenic shore front of Eagle Harbor.
12:30 PM Take a tour of Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery & Market located on the south side of Fish Creek. Walk amongst the orchards and vineyards, pick fruit, challenge your friends to a cherry pit spitting contest, sample wine, cherry salsa, and other delectable goods! Time your visit just right and your group can pick their own cherries (mid- to late-July) or pick their own apples (late-Sept to early-Oct).
2:00 PM Stop at White Cottage Red Door for even more local goodies, rustic home decor, and samples galore.
2:30 PM Visit a farmers market and take some of the County’s finest produce home. From cherries to apples, raspberries, pears, strawberries, and more, you’ll find the freshest produce along with a variety of other mouthwatering treats.
6:00 PM Attend a cooking class at the Savory Spoon Cooking School. Located in downtown Ellison Bay, the Savory Spoon Cooking School can be found inside a charming 1872 schoolhouse. There are classes for all skill levels and ages so come prepared for fun and bring your appetite!
9:00 AM Enjoy delicious food, warm hospitality and friendly service when you have breakfast at Julie's Park Cafe located in downtown Fish Creek. Choose from a variety of traditional and specialty items as well as espresso and fresh bakery.
10:30 AM Make one final stop on your way out of town at Renard’s Cheese & Deli which is proud to offer you the finest selection of properly aged and cured Wisconsin cheeses along with wine, jams and dips, sausage and other goods
