Door County Christmas Movie Trail Returns with New Locations, Prizes and Weekly Giveaways

October 30, 2026 – Door County, WI. Destination Door County is excited to announce the return of the Door County Christmas Movie Trail Pass, a free, mobile-based experience that invites visitors to explore filming locations from the holiday movie A Cherry Pie Christmas. Returning for its second year, the trail features new locations, prizes and weekly giveaways encouraging visitors to explore and shop local throughout the holiday season.

The heartwarming holiday rom-com, starring Katie Leclerc (Switched at Birth, A Very Vermont Christmas) and Ryan Carnes (General Hospital, Desperate Housewives), was filmed entirely on location in Door County and premiered in October 2025. The movie will make its Netflix debut on November 19, 2026, and will also be released in international markets, introducing Door County and its holiday charm to a global audience. The film will also air on Great American Family this holiday season and is available on several streaming platforms, including YouTube, Tubi and Roku.

From coffee and cheese shops to scenic landmarks and cozy inns, the self-guided Door County Christmas Movie Trail Pass gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at locations featured in the film. New this year are “The Scenes You Didn’t See” stops, highlighting local businesses that played a role in the movie’s production but didn’t necessarily make it onto the screen. These additions offer even more opportunities to explore Door County and discover the local connections behind the movie.

As participants check in at each stop using the pass on their mobile phone, they’ll earn points toward prizes, including an exclusive A Cherry Pie Christmas ornament (5 stops), a cherry pie package including a Door County-branded cheese grater, cherry cheddar pie recipe card and Renard’s Cherry Cheddar Cheese coupon (10 stops), or both prize packages (15 stops). Prizes can be picked up at the Door County Welcome Center in Sturgeon Bay.

Also returning this year is the “Shop the Trail” giveaway, with even more chances to win. Participants are encouraged to save receipts from purchases at businesses along the trail and turn them in at the Door County Welcome Center. Each receipt counts as one entry into weekly drawings featuring a $50 Door County Gift Certificate and assorted gifts donated by participating trail businesses. All eligible receipts will also be entered into the grand prize drawing for $500 in Door County Gift Certificates on January 5, 2027.

The pass is free and requires no app to download. Simply sign up and start exploring from your mobile browser. The trail will be available November 1, 2026, through January 5, 2027, at DoorCounty.com/movie.
