*Youth Tours of BHC Campus at at 9:00, 11:30, 1:00 and 2:00*
Special tours of the BHC campus are designed to engage young people. Storytellers will illustrate the lives of the early settlers using artifacts visitors can see and handle for themselves. Farm tools, military service, household items and classroom materials from the early days will show young visitors how different life was for their ancestors. Tours are appropriate for ages 7 and up adults are encouraged to join too!
*Free Gifts for Youth Visitors*
In keeping with our mission to preserve Belgian heritage for future generations, BHC will present youth visitors a special gift to help them learn about their heritage. Visitors under 18 years old accompanied by an adult who attend either the wood carving or take a guided tour of BHCs campus can choose from either a Belgian-American Coloring Book or a copy of Francois by Josie Wautlet. Younger children can learn about their heritage by coloring images taken from BHCs photo archive. Older children can read the story of a boy who immigrated from Belgium in 1856 and lived through the many challenges faced by the early settlers.
Belgian Heritage has been passed down through the generations for over 170 years. To keep our heritage alive, its up to us to engage children and grandchildren to learn about the incredible fortitude of their ancestors. Grandparents Day at BHC is a perfect chance.
