Community Comes Together to Help Door County Bundle Up

January 30, 2023- The annual “Door County Bundle Up” campaign concluded earlier this month. The Door County tourism industry and local community worked together to collect 1,002 winter clothing items.

The Destination Door County Welcome Center partnered with community tourism organizations in Baileys Harbor, Door County North, Egg Harbor, Ephraim, Fish Creek, Sister Bay, and Sturgeon Bay who all volunteered to participate in the campaign.

Community members were encouraged to drop off new or gently used cold weather clothing items from November 29, 2022 to January 9, 2023 at any of the drop off sites.  Collected items were donated to local organizations.

One of the nonprofits receiving donations was the Door County Boys and Girls Club. Amanda LaRoche, Membership and Volunteer Coordinator at the Boys and Girls Club of Door County thanked the many people who donated to the campaign. “Annually we hold two winter wear giveaways at the Boys and Girls Club, so donations are always needed,” said LaRoche. “Our most recent giveaway we were able to give out 600 items to those in need, we truly appreciate the community support to keep Door County warm.”

Since 2011 the campaign has donated nearly 9,000 items to Door County non-profit organizations.
