2017 Door County Official Visitor Guide Now Available

The Door County Visitor Bureau (DCVB), the tourism marketing organization for Door County, is happy to announce that the 2017 Door County Official Visitor Guide is now available.

The free travel guide for one of the Midwest’s premier travel destinations features a wide variety of content about visiting and planning a trip to Door County.  The 2017 edition once again puts an emphasis on engaging editorial content and breathtaking photography to show off the best of what the county has to offer.

Helpful travel information can be found throughout the guide with special sections and business listings on the arts, history & culture, recreation, dining, shopping, lodging, services, group travel, event planning and profiles of the communities that make up Door County.  A calendar of events for 2017 along with a detailed index help maximize the usefulness of the guide. A panoramic wrap-around cover image that features a camper in a hammock along the shores of Europe Lake at Newport State Park runs from the front to the back in this year’s edition.

A large format removable map of Door County is included in every guide for the third year in a row.  Pull-away adhesive keeps the map firmly in the book, but also provides the opportunity to remove the map and use it as a stand-alone navigational aid. The map also contains a community guide featuring highlights from around the county.

The Official Door County Visitor Guide is the primary fulfillment piece mailed and distributed outside of the county to visitors requesting information by phone and online through the Door County Visitor Bureau.  230,000 guides have been printed for distribution in 2017.

The guide is also widely distributed at visitor centers, travel agencies and other outlets in Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest.  Additionally, a virtual version of the guide is available online through the DCVB’s web site, DoorCounty.com.  The online version works great on desktops and laptops as well as the latest generation of smart phones and tablet computers.  Users can virtually flip through pages and will find hyperlinks, videos, extra photo galleries and more about featured businesses and attractions in the electronic version.

Within the county, guides are distributed at the Door County Welcome Center, 1015 Green Bay Road in Sturgeon Bay and at other community visitor centers throughout Door County.  Local businesses are encouraged to make the complimentary 2017 guides available for their customers as well. The Paper Boy delivery service has already begun distributing to area businesses and will continue delivery to businesses that are currently open over the next few weeks.  Door County businesses that would like to specifically request delivery may contact the DCVB at 920-743-4456.

The Door County Visitor Bureau is the official tourism marketing organization for Door County, Wisconsin, whose mission is to generate incremental economic impact for the community by attracting visitors with strategies that ensure sustainable tourism.
