Door County wines, beers, and liquors are taking over taverns and pubs throughout the Midwest. See where the country's lust for cherry wine and Door County beer began with a wine tasting, a visit to one of the area's many breweries or distilleries, or a trip to a pub where a friendly bartender can suggest his or her favorite locally grown spirits.
The craft beer scene has come to Door County in full force with the expansion of Door County Brewing Co. Taproom and Music Hall. The brewery opened in 2013 with a small taproom in Baileys Harbor, and grew in 2017 with the opening of the new music hall in the center of town. Try Belgian-inspired farmhouse ales, porters, and IPAs in a friendly atmosphere known for live music and good vibes.
In Egg Harbor, Door County’s original brewpub tragically burned down in 2017, but Shipwrecked Brewery and Restaurant is aiming for a 2018 re-opening in the center of town.
And don’t forget brewing’s lighter cousin, cider. Island Orchard Cider offers tastings at it’s Ellison Bay tasting room, where they make cider from apples plucked from an orchard on Washington Island.

Door County has long been known for its excellent fruit wines, which have earned acclaim nationwide since Door Peninsula Winery first began producing them nearly 40 years ago. But did you know that local wineries have matured to produce a wide variety of reds, whites, and ports that stack up with the best wines in the region?
Vinophiles will find days of tasting at the wineries of Door County, with eight now dotting the peninsula and more in the planning stages. The best way to see them all is by following the Door County Wine Trail or taking a Door County Trolley winery tour.
You can also just drop in and taste at most wineries throughout the year. Bring your palate and be ready to be surprised by what Door County’s winemakers have to offer.

For those who prefer craft spirits, you can now find a variety produced right here in Door County. Door County Distillery offers hand-crafted whiskey, cherry vodka, and gin. Visit the Carlsville facility and view the production area below from the beautiful bridged foyer.
