In Memory of Carole Counard, 1945–2013

At Destination Door County, we believe that our community’s future is written in the hopes and ambitions of our young people. That’s why, each year, we proudly partner with the Door Community Foundation to support local high school students as they take the next step in their educational journey.

The Carole Counard Scholarship was established in memory of our beloved friend and colleague, Carole, a woman whose life was a shining example of generosity, kindness, and unwavering community spirit. Each year we award $1,000 scholarships to Door County students pursuing higher education at a 2- or 4-year institution.

Since its creation in 2015, this fund has supported 38 incredible students; each one a reflection of the promise and potential that lives within our community. We are honored to continue this legacy of support and belief in our young people. Here’s to many more years of nurturing dreams, investing in one another, and growing stronger, together.
