What's Open: Guide to Grocery Stores & Food Markets

When you brave the elements for wintertime merriment in Door County, planning can go a long way to keep you comfortable when temperatures drop and the snow falls. We’ve collected a list of the grocery stores and food markets (including cheese and candy!) that are open year-round, so you know where to go when you get here and need supplies during your Door County vacation. 

The Candy Bar Door County, Baileys Harbor

Family-owned and operated for over 30 years, The Candy Bar is Door County’s home of small-batch, scratch-made chocolates using Wisconsin butter and cream. The store is stocked with caramels, fudges, brittles, toffees, and hand-dipped chocolates, as well as gummy candies, lollies, gourmet popcorn, and retro candies. Visitors can also delight in soft-serve ice cream and specialty coffees, plus candy samples to taste. 

Greens N Grains Natural Foods Grocery, Egg Harbor

Northern Door County’s only full-service natural food service is also the first in Door County to offer a complete line of fresh, frozen, canned, and bulk organic groceries, dairy products, bakery, meats and seafood, wine and spirits, and nutritional products. Whenever possible, Greens N Grains stocks locally sourced organic products, including sustainably grown greens, sprouts, wheatgrass juice, eggs, beef, chicken, and yak burgers.

Main Street Market, Egg Harbor

Find fresh meats and seafood, baked goods, produce (locally sourced when possible), wine, beer, and liquor at the Main Street Market. The locally owned and operated full-service supermarket also features a deli serving sandwiches, pizzas, salads, dips, dinners, snack foods, and cheeses. 

Wisconsin Cheese Masters, Egg Harbor

Sample the extensive array of the finest cow, sheep, goat, and water buffalo milk cheese at Wisconsin Cheese Masters, offering only the finest products that master, artisan, and farmstead cheesemakers in Wisconsin craft. These hard-to-find cheeses are made using ancient techniques developed and perfected over many years of trial and error. The cheeses are sold by the half-pound and in Wisconsin-crafted wooden gift boxes, many including Wisconsin-made food items that complement the collection. 

Fish Creek Market, Fish Creek

Fish Creek Market is a family-run general store that’s been in continuous operation for more than 125 years. You’ll find a range of grocery essentials, including produce, artisan foods, beer, wine, and spirits, as well as household items and gifts. Through the winter months, you can warm up with the rotating schedule of hot lunches from 
the deli, serving modern interpretations 
of familiar, classic comfort foods available Tuesday through Saturday while 
supplies last.

Door County Piggly Wiggly, Sister Bay

The Door County Piggly Wiggly is an independently owned franchise of Piggly Wiggly, affectionately referred to as "The Pig." The carefully-tended departments offer fresh produce, meats, specialty Asian and Hispanic food products, packaged and frozen foods, wine, beer, and liquor, household products, and personal grooming supplies. The deli serves a wide array of baked goods, hot dishes, salads, sandwich meats, and cheeses. 


Wienke’s Market, Algoma (Southern Door County)

The Wienke’s converted their barn into a year-round destination for visitors and locals. Inside Wienke’s Market, you’ll discover an in-store bakery and preservative and additive-free canned goods, over 30 varieties of pickled items including beans, mushrooms, and asparagus, and over 40 varieties of jams, fruit pie fillings, a large selection of no-sugar-added jams and pie fillings, dried fruit snacks, salad dressing, mustard, raw Door County honey, and more. 


57 Farm Store, Sturgeon Bay

Discover fresh, locally farmed whole foods at the 57 Farm Store. The family-owned farm store is stocked with in-season chemical-free heirloom vegetables and herbs, grass-fed and grass-finished Hereford and Angus beef, and pastured chicken whole broilers, chicken feet, and fresh eggs. Freshly baked bread can be ordered in advance. In addition to food, the store carries soaps, locations, dishcloths, and jewelry. 

Door County Candy, Sturgeon Bay

Satisfy your sweet tooth at Door County Candy, an old-fashioned candy store serving flavored popcorn, gourmet chocolates, fresh fudge, chocolate cherry clusters, roasted nuts, and a wide array of candy. The ice cream parlor serves up malts, milkshakes, floats, and sundaes using Cedar Crest premium ice cream served in chocolate-dipped waffle cones or a cup.  

Renard’s Cheese & Deli, Sturgeon Bay 

Renard’s Cheese  & Deli features a wide variety of authentic, handcrafted Wisconsin artisan cheeses. Stop in and enjoy samples of several selections of cheeses, cheese curds, and wine year-round at the sample table. Plus, Melt Bistro inside the store serves homestyle comfort foods made with locally sourced ingredients and their own artisan cheeses, as well as cheese trays, charcuterie boards, and a catering menu. 


Tadych’s Marketplace Foods, Sturgeon Bay

Tadych’s Marketplace is a full-service supermarket featuring a scratch bakery and fresh deli. You'll find anything you need at this grocer with locations across Wisconsin and Michigan. Weekly ads offer savings you can explore online. Other services offered include deliver to all of Door County, propane exchange, lottery tickets, and more.
