when night falls
a new energy
descends on door county

Light up the night with excitement

After you catch one of the county’s famous sunsets, keep that light burning into the night. Whether you’re catching a local band, a seat at a theater, a late night meal or just meeting the locals at a local bar or tavern, the fun doesn’t end when the sun goes down.

Live Music
The bars, taverns, restaurants and performing arts centers throughout the county have something to offer almost every night. Break out our dancing shoes, check out one of the free outdoor concerts or see classical music virtuosos at one of the county’s many music venues.

Bars and Taverns
In Door County, you’ll find a different take on the “club” scene. Try locally-brewed craft beer, enjoy craft cocktails, a classic old fashioned, or just kick back with the locals over a cold one.

You’ll find classic taverns and dives in each village, many of which have stayed in the same family for generations. Stories ooze out of the walls at these local haunts, and you may find that they become your new favorite corner bar - even if that corner is hours away from your home.

These classics are now accentuated by a burgeoning al fresco dining and drinking scene, none more-so than in Sister Bay, where no less than seven new outdoor bars and beer gardens have hit the scene in recent years. Enjoy our air-conditioned playground with your favorite beverage.

Theater and Performing Arts
From the comedies and tragedies of Shakespeare to the comedies and tragedies of local and regional playwrights, Door County offers incredible live stage performances. Check out afternoon, evening and night shows in theaters on the water, repurposed movie houses, in the open air of the park, and state-of-the-art venues. Find your favorite local venue.

Late Night Dining
Many restaurants are open late during the warm summer season. Whether it’s fine dining or pub fare, enjoy the local cuisine and cocktails after the sun goes down.
