Sister Bay Stories - "Going" Through Time - the Going Garbage Story

  • Corner of the Past/Old Anderson House Museum
  • Sister Bay, WI 54234

On April 1,1963, Sister Bay native Dorothea Grasse Johnson became one of Sister Bay’s few female entrepreneurs when she and her husband, Percy, returned from Toledo, Ohio, with their family and started the Going Garbage business. Dorothea’s new venture followed advice from her brother John, also a Sister Bay native, who had created a successful business known as Grasse Materials, in Anchorage, Alaska. Join members of the Johnson family and Going employees, past and present, as they share Dorothea’s legacy and this unique family business that keeps Sister Bay ‘clean and green’.
