Door County Talks: Social Connection with Paul Salm
Paul Salms 10 a.m. lecture will be the first 2026 installment of DCAs annual Door County Talks series. The entire 2026 series, which is sponsored by Cynthia and Tom LaConte, explores the concept of blue zones, a term referring to regions in the world where people live to or beyond age 100 with few of the degenerative aging diseases prevalent in many parts of the world. Attendees are encouraged but not required to watch the Netflix series, Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones, before attending the events.
Paul Salm is the Human Development and Relationship Educator for the UW-Madison Division of Extension, Door County Offices. He is also a former teacher and owns Cornerstone Pub. In his work with UW-Madison, Salm focuses on lifespan with an emphasis on the countys aging population and on health and well-being. At DCA his talk will focus on social connection.
All Door County Talks begin at 10:00 a.m. Lectures are free to the public; freewill donations are encouraged. Coffee and blue zone-friendly bakery will be available for purchase. Each talk will include a short break, a post-talk question-and-answer session with the speaker, and a chance to meet and reconnect with the year-round Door County friends and neighbors.
