Door County 2022 Official Destination Guide Now Available

Destination Door County (DDC), the county’s tourism marketing & management organization, is excited to announce the release of the Door County 2022 Official Destination Guide in conjunction with National Plan For Vacation Day, which is January 25, 2022.

Destination Door County has put together an annual official destination guide for decades. In collaboration with the organization’s web site, DoorCounty.com, the guide provides visitors with travel information, editorial content, travel ideas and business listings along with details on Door County businesses and organizations. Breathtaking photography, travel tidbits and tips on how to explore Door County responsibly can be found throughout the 190-page guide.

Detailed travel planning information can be found in special sections as well as business listings on the arts, history & culture, recreation, lodging, dining, shopping, services, group travel, event planning and profiles of the communities that make up Door County. The panoramic cover image of the 2022 edition features a traveler exploring the tranquil Lake Michigan shoreline at one of Door County’s public nature preserves.

“We are very excited about the release of our 2022 Destination Guide,” said Julie Gilbert, President/CEO for DDC. “We’ve added some great new content to this year’s guide about topics we’ve not covered before, and hope it inspires travelers to explore differently,” she said.

In addition to readers finding helpful tips to plan visits during all four seasons in Door County, Gilbert is excited about a new section on barrier free travel that is part of the latest guide. Readers can find out about Door County’s Leave No Trace 7 Principles for traveling responsibly and also learn about the First Nations in Door County in a special 2-page feature.

The Door County 2022 Official Destination Guide is the primary fulfillment piece mailed and distributed outside of the county to visitors requesting information by phone and online through Destination Door County’s web site, www.DoorCounty.com. 215,000 guides have been printed for distribution in 2022.

Guides can be found at visitor centers, travel agencies and other outlets in Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest. A digital version of the guide is available at DoorCounty.com and is great on mobile and tablet devices as well as desktop and laptop computers. Users can virtually flip through pages and will find hyperlinks and more about featured businesses and attractions.

Within the county, guides are distributed at the Door County Welcome Center, 1015 Green Bay Road in Sturgeon Bay, and at other community visitor centers throughout Door County. Local businesses are encouraged to make the complimentary 2022 guides available for their customers as well. The Paper Boy delivery service has begun distributing to area businesses and will continue delivery to businesses that are currently open over the next few weeks.  Door County businesses that would like to specifically request delivery may contact Destination Door County at 920-743-4456.
