Enjoy spring and a bit of Door County history at the Country House Resort. In 1907 Dr. Sebald Fichtner opened “Forest Idyll” on the former Ingebret Torgerson farm, the first homestead in Sister Bay. He felt it had the potential to become a grand hotel, and if he were alive today he would know that his prophecy has come true. Years of additions, renovations and continuous upgrades (most recently in 2016), set the resort apart from other properties. One of the greatest assets of our history is our breath taking and unique location on 27 wooded acres and 1,100 feet of private shoreline, ensuring a beautiful, tranquil setting for adults and children 13 years and older.
Independent and family owned, the Zaug family & staff take great pride in providing outstanding and personalized customer service. Rooms & suites with water view balconies, whirlpools and/or fireplaces are available. Dog friendly accommodations are available by advanced reservation. Take in our fabulous flowers, fountains, grounds and water views as well as all of the resort amenities at a spring value.
The entire resort opens May 6th! Full European Continental breakfast buffet begins May 7th. Outdoor whirlpool opens. Even greater savings with mid-week specials and packages. Please contact us directly via our website or 800-424-0041 for guaranteed best rates and personalized service directly from our friendly, local staff. It’s been a long winter. We look forward to hosting your spring get-a-way. You deserve one!
