Mahler’s Third: A World in Symphony Saturday, August 22, 2026 7:30?PM - 9:30?PM Multi-Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung, the Apollo Women’s Chorus, and the Appleton Boychoir join the Peninsula Music Festival for the 2026 season finale, Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, on Saturday, August 22, at 7:30 PM at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. As one of the most sought-after artists on the international stage, Michelle DeYoung brings her multi-Grammy-winning expertise to this monumental 90-minute work, which Mahler described as a symphony that “must embrace everything” in the natural and spiritual world. This six-movement orchestral odyssey moves from the primal power of nature and the delicate beauty of the meadows to a haunting midnight solo and a joyful angelic chorus, concluding with a lush, heart-wrenching finale for the full symphony orchestra. This performance is the final of nine unique concerts taking place at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek from August 4 through August 22, 2026. The Peninsula Music Festival is Door County’s International Philharmonic Orchestra, led by world-renowned Music Director Rune Bergmann. These concerts bring together an international symphony orchestra in a powerful, immersive experience featuring world-class soloists, massive symphonies, and elite choral ensembles.
