The Viennese Legacy Tuesday, August 18, 2026 7:30?PM - 9:30?PM Two-time Grammy Award-winning pianist Michelle Cann performs during the Peninsula Music Festivals powerhouse program, The Viennese Legacy, on Tuesday, August 18, at 7:30 PM at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. Michelle Cann is a celebrated artist praised by Gramophone magazine for her "sterling artistry." Cann, a faculty member at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, takes center stage for Schumanns Piano Concerto in A minor, a deeply romantic masterpiece known for its song-like melodies and spirited finale. The second half of the program features Brahmss Symphony No. 2, a work inspired by the Austrian Alps that is filled with orchestral warmth and concludes with one of the most jubilant and triumphant endings in classical music. This performance offers a rare opportunity to see a modern legend and global piano star at the peak of her powers in an intimate Door County setting. This performance is one of nine unique concerts taking place at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek from August 4 through August 22, 2026. The Peninsula Music Festival is Door Countys International Philharmonic Orchestra, led by world-renowned Music Director Rune Bergmann. These concerts bring together an international symphony orchestra in a powerful, immersive experience featuring world-class soloists, massive symphonies, and elite choral ensembles.
