La Dolce Vita: Italian Masterpieces Saturday, August 15, 2026 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM The Peninsula Music Festival presents La Dolce Vita: Italian Masterpieces on Saturday, August 15, at 7:30 PM at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. This program highlights the extraordinary talent within the festival’s own ranks, featuring five principal musicians stepping into the spotlight as soloists: Michael Kroth (bassoon), Helen Blackburn (flute), Eric Olson (oboe), and the horn duo of Erich Peterson and Leslie Norton. The first half of the concert features a series of elegant Baroque concertos showcasing the individual artistry of these world-class performers. The second half shifts to high-intensity drama, opening with Verdi’s sweeping overture to the opera La Forza del Destino and concluding with Respighi’s massive sonic spectacular, Pines of Rome. This powerful finale depicts a marching Roman army and offers a physical, immersive experience that utilizes the full scale of the international symphony orchestra. This performance is one of nine unique concerts taking place at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek from August 4 through August 22, 2026. The Peninsula Music Festival is Door County’s International Philharmonic Orchestra, led by world-renowned Music Director Rune Bergmann.
