Apple Crisp

Apple crisp and ice cream in a bowl


For the Filling:

2lbs. honey crisp apples, sliced
1/3lb. unsalted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Streusel Topping: 

2 cups rolled oats (do not use quick oats)
1/3lb. unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour


Combine apples, unsalted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix well. Place ingredients in an ovenproof dish and bake at 350° F for 15–20 minutes or until apples are tender but not mushy. 

Place rolled oats, unsalted butter, pecans, brown sugar and flour in a bowl and mix well.

Place apple mixture in an ovenproof dish and top with streusel mixture. Bake at 350° F for 20 minutes or until golden brown.


Let cool and enjoy. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
