Destination Door County ("Sponsor")

AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES
By participating, Entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. 

TERM
The Savor the Flavor Sweepstakes begins February 12, 2024, and ends December 31, 2024. All entries must be made on Instagram. Entries become the property of Sponsor.

WHO MAY ENTER
Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the United States (excluding residents of Puerto Rico) and Canada except where prohibited by law.  Employees of Sponsor, and its affiliates and subsidiaries, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of such individuals, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win a prize. SWEEPSTAKES ARE VOID OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA AND WHERE PROHIBITED.  

HOW TO ENTER
To enter the  Savor the Flavor Sweepstakes, entrants must follow Door County on Instagram, post their photo taken at a Door County dining establishment to Instagram with hashtag #SavortheFlavorDoorCounty, tagging said establishment and @DoorCounty on a public post. Multiple entries can be made, however, only one account is eligible for the prize drawing each quarter for entries made within that quarter as follows; February-March, April-June; July-September, October-December. The Sponsor is not responsible for late, incomplete, misdirected, or delayed entries. Incomplete information may result in disqualification of entry. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed, or any other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. 

SWEEPSTAKES PRIZES
THE POTENTIAL WINNERS ARE REQUIRED TO EXECUTE ALL OR SOME OF THE FOLLOWING: (1) AN AFFIDAVIT OF ELIGIBILITY AND LIABILITY RELEASE; (2) WARRANTY OF OWNERSHIP AND LICENSE; (3) PUBLICITY RELEASE; AND (4) ANY OTHER AFFIDAVITS AND/OR RELEASES OR ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED BY PRIZE SUPPLIER(S). UNLESS PROHIBITED BY LAW, THE POTENTIAL WINNER MUST SIGN THESE DOCUMENTS NO LATER THAN 30 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF PRIZE NOTIFICATION IN ORDER FOR SPONSOR TO AWARD THE PRIZE. NONCOMPLIANCE OR RETURN OF PRIZE NOTIFICATION AS UNDELIVERABLE MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND, AT SPONSOR’S DISCRETION, SELECTION OF AN ALTERNATE WINNER.  

One winner will be selected for a $250 Door County Gift Certificate proceeding the quarter: February-March, April-June, July-September, October-December. Prizes are subject to availability, will be awarded on a quarterly basis and will be selected at random. Entry cut-off dates and notification dates are as follows:

  • Q1 - March 31 cut-off date, winner randomly selected and notified by Apr 15, 2024
  • Q2 - June 31 cut-off date, winner randomly selected and notified by Jul 15, 2024
  • Q3 - September 31 cut-off date, winner randomly selected and notified by October 15, 2024 
  • Q4 - December 31 cut-off date, winner randomly selected and notified by January 15, 2025

Prize is detailed below:  

$250 Door County Gift Certificate

  • The $250 gift certificate can be used toward almost any purchase you make in Door County, including lodging, meals, shopping, attractions, performances, groceries, tours, and more, at participating locations.

  • The gift certificate does not expire.

  • No cash value.

  • Find the list of participating restaurants here. The list of participating businesses are those that are partners of Destination Door County only. Businesses that are not members of Destination Door County, while not listed, are also eligible to accept gift certificates. If you do not see a particular business listed here, please call ahead to confirm they accept the gift certificates. Acceptance of the gift certificate is not guaranteed by every business; call ahead to confirm before use.

DRAWING AND NOTIFICATION
Prizes will be awarded by random drawing of all entries. The winner will be notified via the Prize Administrator through a direct message on Instagram. The Sponsor within the second week of the month of the contest closure noted above. The winner will be required to confirm the prize no later than 7 days from receiving the direct message on Instagram. If the winner does not confirm within this time period, the prize will become null and void. 

PRIZE DETAILS
This prize may be transferable with Administrator approval. Certain restrictions may apply. By accepting the prizes, Winner represents that tips, taxes, insurance and all other expenses associated with acceptance and use of the prize not stated herein are the sole responsibility of the Winner and his/her travel companions. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS VOID OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA, AND WHERE PROHIBITED. This sweepstakes is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including tax laws. Certain restrictions may apply. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, misdirected, or postage-due mail. Entries void if the Sponsor determines the entry to not be an original, or if the entries are illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, altered, counterfeit, produced in error or obtained through fraud or theft. 

Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual deemed to be (a) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or Sponsor’s Website; or (b) acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON (S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. 

Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a prize Winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry.

"Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

ENTRANT LICENSES/RELEASES  

Participants also agree (a) to be bound by these Official Rules and (b) if he/she wins that Sponsor may use each winner’s name, photograph, likeness, and/or voice in any publicity or advertising relating to the sweeps or future promotions without compensation or approval (except where prohibited by law). All federal, state and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. In the event that the selected winner(s) of any prize are/is ineligible or refuses the prize, the prize will be forfeited and Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may choose whether to award the prize to another winner.

RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

By participating in the Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, the Administrator, their respective parents, officers, directors, employees, agents, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, sales representatives, advertising and promotional agencies (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) any technical errors that may prevent an Entrant from submitting an entry; (b) unauthorized human intervention in the Sweepstakes; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; or (f) injury, death, or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt of any prize. Released Parties assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. 

Released Parties are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Entrant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Sweepstakes, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney’s fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.

DISPUTES

Except where prohibited, you agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the State of Wisconsin. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Wisconsin or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Wisconsin.
