Gilbert Named Chair of Newly Formed Sustainability Task Force

April 5, 2023 - Julie Gilbert, President & CEO of Destination Door County (DDC), was recently named chair of the newly formed sustainability task force for Destinations International’s advocacy committee.

The newly formed task force will provide input on strategies for sustainability that will benefit Destinations International membership regarding this important initiative.

Gilbert expressed her excitement for being part of the task force. “To help inform task force priorities and how to begin benchmarking Destination International member’s understanding, challenges and progress in the sustainability arena will help support DDC’s continued growth and shape our environmental, business, and societal sustainable initiatives into the future,” said Gilbert.

Destinations International is the world’s largest resource for official destination organizations, convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) and tourism boards.

DDC launched their eco-focused initiative, Care for Door County, in 2021. Care for Door County focuses on cultural, quality-of-life, and eco-focused initiatives to help protect and care for the county everyone loves and is also part of DDC’s enhanced tourism management efforts.
