Hi Morgan, we got engaged in the middle of a crowded Bayside Tavern last Saturday during Winter Festival! We have always talked about getting married in Door County but I need help. We are looking at a small ceremony with less than 30 people then going out for dinner. I'm guessing you can help. we're from the Milwaukee area but know Fish Creek very well.

Hi Christy, Fish Creek doesn't have much for hosting the ceremony, but here are a few options for you in the Ephraim area. EPHRAIM: Eagle Harbor Inn It's across the street from the water, have a nice room to house a reception or be a rain back up, and is super cute for pictures. http://eagleharborinn.com/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Eagle-Harbor-Inn/140072246037090 High Point Inn Lovely gardens around the property, and they have a meeting room that could be a rain backup. http://www.highpointinn.com/ https://www.facebook.com/HighPointInn?ref=ts Edgewater Resort They have a small grassy area on the water, but don't say they host weddings. However, since you're event is small, I think they may be open to allowing it, and it would be very pretty there. http://www.edge-waterresort.com/ https://www.facebook.com/EdgewaterResort?ref=hl Anderson Dock A super picturesque place for photos and you can also have a ceremony on their grassy area surrounded by the water. http://www.ephraim-doorcounty.com/parks/anderson.htm Moravian Church If you wanted a church option, I did a review of the main church in Ephraim last year. http://doorcounty.com/2013/05/31/ephraim-churches-moravian/

Hi Morgan! I am hoping you might be able to help me! I am getting married this summer, June 28, in Baileys Harbor. Wedding is at Stella Maris and the reception is at on our property just outside of town. Planning has been going really well but I've encountered a road bump! I'm having a hard time finding a hair stylist! I'm willing to go to a salon or I'd love to have someone come to the house. Any ideas!? Thanks so much!

Hi Nel, Have you tried Spa Verde? They come on-site. Also, here's a list of other options in case you haven't called any of them yet: https://www.doorcounty.com/weddings/spas-and-beauty-services/. Best of luck!

Hi Morgan,

I am a new-ish resident of Green Bay and just got engaged ... his entire family is several-generations of Wisconsinites, most specifically GB natives. We are hoping to have our special day somewhere in Door County in late summer/early fall of 2015. I was wondering if there was a specific venue you could think of that might work well for us.

We would like an outdoor venue with:
- The ceremony performed overlooking the water, or perhaps in a gorgeous garden with the water very close by.
- Preferably lots of trees and greenery.
- The ability to have the reception (a music-filled open-bar dancing-heavy style of event) in either a semi-open permanent structure or a non-permanent mostly-open tent facility. The more outside the better.
- The ability to accommodate at least 100 folks. Maybe even 150.

I would love to hear what ideas you might have. Thanks so much for taking the time!

Hi Gemma, You actually describe most of Door County! Water is almost always nearby and a panoramic view of garden/greenery is hard NOT to come by. Where you're requirements limit things is in the semi-open permanent structure or tent, but that still doesn't limit much. Here's a list of options to get you started in your search.
Horseshoe Bay Golf Club, Egg Harbor The tent weddings here are spectacular. http://www.horseshoebaygolfclub.net/Club_Info/Special-Events-and-Catering/Weddings.aspx
Gordon Lodge, Baileys Harbor A 130-acre property on it's own peninsula, it's a gem. http://gordonlodge.com/weddings-groups/

The Lodge at Leathem Smith, Sturgeon Bay
They have a flat, grassy area with mature trees with views of the Sturgeon Bay ship canal. http://www.thelodgeatls.com/weddings.aspx

Stone Harbor Resort, Sturgeon Bay The stone facade of the resort, along with the views of the Steel Bridge and ship canal is what sets them apart. http://www.stoneharbor-resort.com/weddings

Alpine Resort, Egg Harbor
Their outdoor ceremony area has a cute stone wall surround, but they only do a few weddings per year. http://www.alpineresort.com/weddings.html

Hopefully that helps you out. Best of luck!
