A Sampling of Outdoor Places to See Live Music
Let me start out by saying, there are many wonderful places to see live music in Door County. If you are a regular reader of my blogs, you know that. Combining both music and the natural beauty we are known for here in Door County, let's take a look at just a few of the outdoor music experiences (in no particular order)!
1). The Tiki Bar at Stone Harbor Resort. In the summer, there is no finer place to kick back with a cold beverage of choice and soak in the sun and live music. Located at the foot of the Michigan Street Steel Bridge, the view of bridges, marinas and parades of boats going by provides a relaxing and beautiful backdrop for some great live music. http://www.stoneharbor-resort.com/ Photo by Jennifer DuPont. 2). Waterfront Marys Bar and Grill at Beach Harbor Resort. A bit off the beaten path, but that's part of the allure. This is one of the only spots you can actually put your toes in the water while listening to live music. With a full bar and grill accessible from both inside and outside and being situated on a private beach, this spot is well worth the drive. It's a bit of a party vibe on weekends, but you can certainly head down to the water with a beverage and someone special and have some great conversation under the stars. http://www.beachharborresort.com/bar-grill/ The Nicks perform live, outside at Fred and Fuzzy's. 4). Woodwalk Gallery and Concert Series. The music happens in the barn, but it's the pre-concert rituals at this beautiful property that garner its place on this list. Local musician and artist, Jeanne Kuhns is celebrating the 10th year of her concert series this summer, so by all means, put this on your list! Come early with a picnic and sit outside prior to the show. Take a stroll through the very impressive on-site art gallery or along the outdoor paths through the woods and you'll be completely blissed out before the music even starts. http://www.woodwalkgallery.com/
