September is an idyllic time of year to visit Door County because it falls between the peak busy times of summer (July/August) and the busy weekends of fall festivals in October. It’s not quite full-on fall yet, so there is still sunshine to savor during the day and warm temperatures to keep you company late into the evening.
The Country House Resort in Sister Bay is the perfect place to break away for some final moments of rest and relaxation while summer comes to a close. The resort, available to adults and children 13 years of age and up, offers private serenity that is within walking distance to the food, shopping, and fun in Sister Bay.
Family owned and managed by the Zaug family, the peaceful resort features 46 rooms and suites. On 27 wooded acres with 1100 feet of private shoreline, guests are ensured plenty of space and a quiet setting. Located a quarter mile off the main highway, the location is removed from the traffic and noise, but close enough to walk to dining, shopping, and nearby activities.
Guests are invited to enjoy the private nature trail along the shoreline and to find a bench to enjoy the beautiful view or stay indoors to enjoy the view—the majority of the rooms offer private balconies with water views. All rooms are equipped with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and plush robes, but consider upgrading to a suite for an in-room whirlpool and gas fireplace!
Feel like kicking back and staying at the resort? You’ll find plenty of complimentary amenities, including an outdoor pool, whirlpool, tennis, kayaks, dock, lawn and yard games ,and a fire table. Then wake up each morning to a complementary European breakfast buffet. Book your stay now for a September getaway to remember.
