Winter is starting to melt away and the peninsula is coming back to life. Spring is a time of rejuvenation, and you can feel it happening throughout the county. Women’s Fund Story Slam

A Story Slam is more than just a storytelling event. It’s an invitation for people to share a few minutes of themselves in a room full of people who appreciate a well-told tale. These aren’t stories for children, but rather an honest description of real-life events and how they made us into the people we are. “Tales of Our Lives” is empowerment through performance and promises to be two nights to remember. Social hour starts at 6 p.m. with story hour at 7 p.m.

Indoor Winter Race Series

Kress Pavilion, Egg Harbor
March 17

Each race features a 10km pre-set course. Bicycles will be mounted to Cycleops M2 smart trainers with resistance synced to PerfPro Studio course route data to simulate an outdoor riding experience. Bicycle provided if you do not own your own. Award for fastest male and female rider. $20/person. Register at indooractivesports.com.

Ellison Bay Easter Egg Hunt

Fitzgerald Park, Ellison Bay
April 20

Children ages 2–12 are invited to join in the hunt. Children over 12 years old can volunteer to help hide the colorful plastic "Easter eggs" containing small toys and sweets. Free.

Jacksonport Easter Egg Hunt

Lakeside Park, Jacksonport
April 20

Children are welcome to visit Lakeside Park and search for eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny.

Sister Bay Easter Egg Hunt

Waterfront Park, Sister Bay
April 20

Children will hunt for colored eggs, according to age group. As in years past, there will be an appearance from the Easter Bunny. The library will have a table set up for kids to do crafts after the egg hunt. The Easter Bunny may even come check out those crafts.

Baileys Harbor Brown Trout Tournament

Over $8,000 in cash and prizes is up for grabs paying out to the Top 40 fish. Grab your buddies and your cold weather gear and head out on the Big Lake for the first open water fishing tournament of the year. $25/person. Free/15 & under.
