The Eagle Harbor Inn, main street Ephraim, has been hosting guests for over 78 years from its humble beginnings as a cottage resort. The first home on the property was ‘The Svalhus’, meaning ‘Cool House’ in Norwegian,  which became home to one of Door County’s first gift shops, Cabin Craft, owned by Doris Heise Miller. Doris was a jeweler whose custom silver signature rings & bracelets expressed the chunky initials of the wearer and are highly prized for those who were lucky enough to have had one made by her.

Cottages were added from 1938 on, creating a 12 cottage resort, then a year round home which was turned into the current 9 room Bed &Breakfast Inn in 1983, one of the earliest B&B’s in Door County!

In 1994 the Neddersens, who had been in the hotel business around the country & living in Hawaii, decided to relocate their young family back to Wisconsin for a ‘home court advantage’.  They ran the Eagle Harbor Inn as the cottage resort with B&B the first year, but knew customer demand was changing. Everyone likes the idea of hearing the screen door slam, but it also means double beds & possibly snakes under the cottages! The cottages were moved off the property & six architecturally distinct houses were built offering One & Two Bedroom Whirlpool Suites in addition to the existing B&B. Moving into their 23rd year, they invite you to take pause in our honest offering of great local food & familial hospitality!
