The annual parade starts at 5pm and runs north along State 57 from Bluff Road to the Town Hall parking lot, with Santa Claus leading the way aboard a fire truck. Caroling will take place along the route, and people are invited to become part of the parade by walking behind Santa's truck. Afterwards, join the Harbor Holiday party from 5:30-6:30pm inside Town Hall with arts and crafts, food, and refreshments. And don’t miss the tree lighting ceremony, starting at 6pm outside Town Hall.
Other holiday happenings take place before the parade and tree lighting including an annual Holiday Fair from 10am-3pm at Town Hall, sponsored by the Door County North Rotary Club, with proceeds from sales going to the club's youth and environmental action projects. Children can create button and snowflake crafts while sipping hot apple cider from 10am-1pm at the local branch of the Door County Library and in the Town Hall.
At the Ridges Sanctuary visitors will find the annual wreath-making workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants use natural materials collected from the sanctuary to make their own winter wreath to take home. Cost is $20 for the first wreath, $10 each additional wreath or swag, and supplies are provided.

Visitors are invited to the ceremonial lighting of the village's holiday tree and Christmas carols at 11am in Harborside Park. Following the lighting, children can visit Santa's Workshop at Village Hall from 11:30am-2pm to create holiday crafts and decorate cookies or grab a soup, chili, and hot dog lunch. Santa himself will meet with children from noon to 2pm.
Horse-drawn wagon rides will be available from 12:30-2:30pm, departing from Village Hall.
There is no admission charge to activities at Village Hall, but a nonperishable food item donation for the food pantry at Door of Life Christian Church in Sister Bay is appreciated.

Kids can visit with Santa from 10am-2pm at the Northern Door YMCA or don your best ugly sweater for the 5k fun run at 10am which concludes with hot cocoa and cookies.
While the fish community doesn't have an official Christmas tree to light, the Gibraltar Historical Society has for more than a decade held a tree-lighting ceremony in the square outside its Alexander Noble House Museum. The ceremony will begin at 5pm with hot cocoa, cookies and Christmas carols with members of the Gibraltar Schools chorus. For more information, call 920-868-2091 or visit historicnoble.org.
The Washington Island Rec Center is sponsoring the Season of Lights where members of the public can make a donation to have a light on the big Christmas tree outside to honor someone living, in memory of someone gone or for any number of other reasons. The tree-lighting ceremony will take place that day where those honored or remembered are read, the tree is lit and songs sung outside, a light lunch served inside.
