Bring some hearty Door County flavor to your holiday table with this simple, sweet side made with signature Door County items.
Pick up some Door County apples and local maple syrup from the farmer’s market or grocery store to get started.
3 green apples
3 red apples
1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
¼ cup and 2 Tbsp maple syrup
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Chop the apples into small chunks, then add all ingredients into a medium sauce pan and mix. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 12 minutes.
That’s it! Now sprinkle some chopped pecans over the top for crunch and you’ve got a delicious side dish with Door County flavor.
