Family-Owned Ephraim Shores Resort Celebrates 50 Years

Ephraim is a family-favorite destination of many vacationers for numerous reasons, but near the top of every list is that this picturesque village is located on the beautiful bay of Eagle Harbor. The expansive waterfront is west-facing, promising a gorgeous sunset nearly every evening. The bay also offers beautiful views across the water to the bluffs and forests of Peninsula State Park. The park is known for its miles of hiking and biking trails, great camping sites, and plentiful water views. When you stay at Ephraim Shores Resort, you are within minutes of the park entrance.

Ephraim Shores Resort offers an Ephraim experience that allows you to take full advantage of all of these features. As a guest, you have exclusive access to the resort's private waterfront on Eagle Harbor, which boasts a sundeck and beachfront. The resort is also at a central location and is within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. It’s no wonder Ephraim Shores has been such a successful business for 50 years.

Their track record of hosting family fun is an impressive one, with many guests returning year after year to enjoy a vacation at the resort. The Spigelman family is one such family; the Spigelmans have been coming to Ephraim Shores since 1975, and this summer they will be visiting Ephraim Shores for the 44th straight year.

In 1969, the current owner, Randall Nelson, and his construction crew broke ground on the resort that would become Ephraim Shores. Today, the family-run resort has rooms ranging from spacious queens and kings to spa suites and multi-bedroom options. Additional amenities include an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, exercise room, and bikes for guests to use.

Help them celebrate 50 years this summer. The resort will be open on the weekend of May 3 for the Door County Half Marathon and will officially open for the season on May 10. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day exploring Ephraim and the rest of Door County.
