The snow has melted and warm summer winds will soon be guiding sailboats across the bay. The county is coming back to life, and with it comes summer festival season and a full calendar of opportunities to hang with friends and family, enjoy the outdoors, and indulge in the flavors of Door County.
Peninsula State Park
Named one of the Midwest’s best races by Competitor and Active.com, participants enjoy a closed, USATF-certified road course in Peninsula State Park. Post-race party with food, Door County Brewing Co. beer and live music.
Experience an insider’s view of the shipbuilding industry in Sturgeon Bay. Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding and Centerpointe Yacht Services open their doors to the public. The Door County Maritime Museum and the working waterfront of the west side are also included in the tour. Sandwiches and refreshments available for purchase at Bay Ship.
Egg Harbor Launch Park
7am. Registration. 8:30am. Race Starts. Fun, family event for all ages. Choose from a 5-mile run, a 2-mile walk-run or a 1-mile youth run. Join in the "Live Strong" relay. 9:30am. Youth race starts.
Wave Pointe Marina & Resort
The waters surrounding Sturgeon Bay teem with world-class smallmouth bass fishing and participants keep weighing in more and bigger fish each and every year. Featuring live weigh in, kids day, dock dance, drinks, food, and raffle.
Throughout Washington Island
Explore the wild nature of Washington and Rock Islands. Locate, identify and enjoy the common as well as unusual birds, and learn about the miracle of bird migration.
Throughout Baileys Harbor
Bring your personal boat to receive a blessing. Spend the day meeting with ship captains, touring the Baileys Harbor Range Lights and charter and commercial fishing boats all while enjoying live music, food and drinks, and an arts and crafts fair all day. Lakeside Park, Jacksonport
Celebrate the start of summer at Lakeside Park. Visitors can enjoy an art fair, a fun run on Sunday, great food, live music, a parade, a horse pull and more.
Martin Park, Sturgeon Bay
Featuring a variety of local bands, food including varieties of side pork, entertainment zones for adults, and a Hog Wild Run (5k, 10k, and kids run).
Throughout Door County
Visit all 11 historic Door County lighthouses with boat excursions and guided land-based tours. Visitors get access to lighthouses that aren’t typically open to the public, including Chambers Island, Plum Island and Sherwood Point lighthouses.
Al Johnson’s, Sister Bay
Watch as Al Johnson’s crew parades their goats down the road to put them on the roof for the first time this season. Featuring live music, fun kids games, Swedish pancake eating contest, goat drop contest, and food and beverages.
