Snowshoeing in Door County

Don't Slow Down for Snow

Snowshoeing is the perfect way to explore the great outdoors of Door County in the wintertime, when you're more likely than not to find snow on the ground (and just about everywhere else). All you need are some solid snow boots, and local equipment lenders can provide the rest, including snowshoes, poles, and outdoor gear. Plus, no experience or specialized techniques are needed. If you are comfortable walk or hike, you can snowshoe.

Where to Go Snowshoeing

One great thing about snowshoes is that they don't take up too much extra room on the trail and don't pose much of a threat to the wildlife or environment, so most favorite hiking locations like parks, nature preserves, and top trails are also open to snowshoers.

Here are some additional spots for snowshoeing in the Door County area:

Where to Rent Snowshoeing Equipment

Door County has a handful of places to rent snowshoes and related equipment, such a knee-saving hiking poles or winter clothing.

In addition to the businesses below, the Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor offers snowshoe rentals, as do many lodgings and rental homes in the area, provided you're staying at their locations.
