Gilbert Named Co-Chair of Advocacy Committee

February 16, 2024 - Julie Gilbert, President & CEO of Destination Door County (DDC), was recently named co-chair of the advocacy committee for Destinations International.

The advocacy committee is made up of 76 members that represent destinations from across the world. The committee is tasked with recommending partnerships, best practices, and resources to communicate the value and impact of destination organizations to their leadership, stakeholders, and community.

“Our 2024 strategic priorities for the committee are some of the same priorities that DDC is working on.  Collaborating with fellow destinations to prioritize initiatives like community alignment, engagement, and destination stewardship helps expand our organization's perspective and also strengthens our visitor economy,” said Gilbert.

Destinations International is the world’s largest resource for official destination organizations, convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) and tourism boards.
