Community Donates Over 2,700 Items for Door County Cares Drive

January 19, 2024 – Door County, WI.  The county wide “Door County Cares” drive recently concluded and was a big success in helping provide the local community with personal care related items. Spearheaded by Destination Door County and in conjunction with the United Way of Door County, the Door County tourism industry and local community worked together to collect over 2,700 personal care and cleaning supplies to support local residents and neighbors.

Community members were encouraged to drop off personal care and cleaning supplies from November 24, 2023 – January 7, 2024, at drop off sites across the county. Collected items were donated to various local pantries with help from the United Way of Door County.

“This community is always ready to help those in need”, said Julie Gilbert, President and CEO of Destination Door County. “We are so grateful for the outpouring of donations and happy to work with the United Way of Door County on getting these items to those in need,” said Gilbert.

Destination Door County would like to thank all involved in this effort.
