A Painted History of Fish Creek celebrates Gibraltars Sesquicentennial. Through her large acrylic paintings, Andrea Kinsey-Jacquet takes us to the town of her childhood, during the 50s and 60s. Her paintings are joined by the works of plein air artists and former Fish Creek summer residents, Alice Apfelbach and her brother Ferdinand Hotz whose paintings reflect Fish Creek beginning in the 20s. A celebration will take place on the light house grounds beginning at 1pm. Julian Hagen will provide music, lighthouse cake and milk will be served, and several dignitaries will give brief speeches marking the occasion. That evening a banquest will be held at Karlys on Washington Island. Space is limited to the first 120. Tickets are $25 for dinner and door prizes. An original painting by Audrey M. Off and a beautiful quilt will be raffled off (tickets $5, or 5 for $20). |
