Door Countys premier riding stable. Horses for all ages and abilities. In order to better match horse and rider, a brief lesson is included with each ride. We offer Arena Rides, Wooded Walk Trails and Walk-Trot Trails. We also have an end-of-day ride for our advanced clientele. Open all year. In winter, join us for an after ride cup of cider around the fireplace! Thousands of people come to ride each year on one of the 54 horses on wooded trails winding throughout this 500-acre property.
Kurtz Corral Hours: May through October: 9:00 am thru 3:00 pm.(reservations only for parties of 6 or more). November through April (trail times): 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Please call ahead for reservations!
RIDES AND RATES
ARENA RIDES ($30 per person). Arena Rides are for youngsters ready for an adventure but not quite ready for a trail ride. Our arena is a wonderful area to introduce your children to our horses. For 15 minutes young kids get the chance to ride. Itís a treat for all.
WOODED WALK RIDE ($45 per person). Join us for a wooded walk trail ride. An hour ride that consists of an instructional video that shows you how our horses are trained, a one hour trail ride and plenty of Wisconsin wildlife. Even our winter trail has some interesting friends to see as the cardinal is a breathtaking red. He stands out against the winter whites and browns of fall.
WOODED WALK TROT RIDES ($50 per person). Join us for a wooded walk/trot trail and you will be able to experience a more fast paced ride as there are several places to trot on over 500 acres owned by Kurtz Corral. Our summer trail runs past a deer farm in case you donít get a chance to see the white tailed deer native to Wisconsin that live on the farm. Check out the skies for the hawks as red tails and sharp shins are the most commonly sighted.
TAG UNDERSTUDY PROGRAM ($75 per person). Benefits: you get to spend an entire day at Kurtz Corral working with horses. You will be assigned to be the understudy of a guide where you will learn: horses body language, saddling and bridling, leadership skills, safety and care, cleaning and feeding. When available: by reservation only, limited to ages 14 to adult.
ADVANCED SKILL RIDE ($75 per person). Especially for experienced horse people (40 hours of riding experience required.) Our staff will asses your abilities in the ring prior to your trail ride. This is a double loop ride, two completed trail rides back to back through wooded farm country. The first hour and loop will consist of a walk and trot, with the second hour and loop a trot and canter.
ADVANCED TRAIL RIDE WINE TOUR ($100 per person.) Our advanced trail is especially for experienced horse people (40 hours of riding experience required.) Be prepared to walk, trot, and canter on this two hour plus trek through wooded farm country and vineyards to Simon Creek Winery for a brief visit. Reservations required at least one week in advance.
GROUPS AND SPECIALS
COMPANY PICNIC/OUTINGS. Have your company picnic at Kurtz Corral. Get together with fellow employees on a cowboy outing. Enjoy a wooded trail ride and picnic as you dine outdoors or in our rustic barn. Packages: 1. Lesson, Trail Ride, Use of Picnic Area. 2. Lesson, Trail Ride, Use of Studio. If package is booked and ridden between November and April additional discounts may apply.
