There are many facets to the work and dedication of the Door County Visitor Bureau to sustainable tourism and the promotion of member businesses to our local population and the more than two million visitors we welcome to Door County each year. In short "We Import Cash."
All Visitor Bureaus exist to serve the interests of their members but, in Door County, the primary responsibility of the Visitor Bureau is to drive our tourism industry. Therefore, our most visible work is in the marketing of the entire County to the Traveling Public and helping our visitors find their fun once they're here. Because the vibrancy of the business climate is directly tied to the health of our tourism industry, everyone benefits from the Visitor Bureau's Work - even if your primary customer isn't from out of town. If your customer isn't a visitor, chances are that your customer's customer is.

All of our promotions drive inquiries to DoorCounty.com and, all of the basic features needed to create your business page on our website are included with your annual membership of $375.
Without question, Door County has an allure all of its own. With its incredible beauty, state parks, 300 miles of shoreline, 10 lighthouses, dynamic performing and visual arts scene, fabulous shopping and dining, quaint villages & islands, etc., etc. it's pretty easy to love. Perhaps the most important work the Visitor Bureau does is maintain the "Top of Mind Awareness" so Door County is the first place that people think of when they think of getting away. The ads we purchase in newspapers and other print media help, but the relationships we've built with travel writers and members of the media, of all sorts, make the idea of coming to Door County come alive. They love to come here and subsequently get their best stories and pictures for their magazines, books, TV and radio shows. As we're sure you know, the sort of credibility one receives in a story - as opposed to an ad - is the kind of positive exposure that no amount of money can buy.
It is estimated that the cost of providing services to each member amounts to more than $750 each. Just under half of this expense is covered by the collection of Membership Dues ($350/yr) and the remaining amount is raised through member participation in value added promotional services such as Advertising in the Official Door County Visitor Guide; subscriptions to Additional Features offered to enhance member pages (InnLine) on DoorCounty.com; Seasonal Promotions (Nature of Romance, Festival of Blossoms, So Delicious - So Door County and, Holidays Days& Holly Nights) as well as Television & Printed Co-op Advertising. Not only do you receive the added benefits of these targeted promotions at a Value Added rate, your participation also helps to strengthen our organization.
As a member, you are supporting our efforts to promote a healthy local economy and the ideals of sustained tourism through the balance of development and conservation.
If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us directly. We're here to help however we can.
