Fish boils feature fresh whitefish caught daily - served nightly Monday-Saturday and holiday Sundays (reservations requested, groups welcome). In the early 1900's, the Ephraim Post Office was located at the rear of Peter Peterson's/ James Hansen's General Store. We have named our restaurant in honor of its history. Join us for a home-cooked breakfast, complete with local favorites like cherry pancakes, belgian waffles, and fluffy omelettes.

We invite you to visit us for an evening Fish Boil at the Old Post Office Restaurant. The menu for the traditional feast includes: Steaks of Fresh Whitefish, Small Red Potatoes, Little White Onions, Homemade Lemon, Pumpkin and Rye Breads, and Fresh Baked Door County Cherry Pie.

The Lake Michigan whitefish is caught by local fishermen and prepared outside over a roaring open fire. Small potatoes and onions are boiled first and the fish is then dropped into the steaming kettle.

Come early and watch as the boil master creates the "boil over," signaling that the catch is ready to serve. Enjoy Door County's best Fish Boil while capturing a sunset you will never forget. Both indoor and outdoor seating can be arranged, and groups are welcome. Chicken or ribs are available for those who prefer an alternative to fish, and we have hot dogs in reserve for the children.
