Fall Color Report
The air is as crisp and sweet as an apple. The stillness only broken by wind in the branches and the sound of dry leaves crackling underfoot. A refreshing chill relents to a cozy sweater and a mug of cocoa. Peace and tranquility have come to rest in Autumn's bed.
It is Fall in Door County.
A time when an otherwise serene landscape comes alive with intensity in the changing of colors. Fiery reds and oranges; dramatic yellows - nature's last booming opus before white winter sets in. And while this spectacular show is unpredictable and short-lived, there's no better season, and no better time to visit.
This uniquely natural celebration comes to our community but once a year and is wholly enhanced by the culinary delights found in our restaurants, our dozens of galleries, spectacular shopping and hotel packages.
Fall Color Status: Leaf colors are just past peak, but there are still areas with beautiful golden and red leaves.
